Symposium on NEP-2020 and release of a Book on Dr. D. R. Vij at M M Modi CollegePatiala: May 8, 2023
The Internal Quality Assurance Cell of Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala in Collaboration with ‘The Council for Teacher Education Foundation (CTEF Punjab and Haryana Chapter) today organized a symposium to discuss the implementation of New education Policy-2020. This symposium was focus on the advancement of knowledge –based enterprises, promote appropriate technical and management skills for future technology development, exchange of informational routes and to work towards effective research, institutional academic collaboration and partnership for human resource development. In this symposium, Dr. Satinder Dhillon, Vice President, The Council for Teacher Education Foundation, Dr. Pargat Singh Garcha, Principal GHG Khalsa College of Education, Gurusar Sudhar, Ludhiana, Dr. B.B. Singla, Associate Professor, Department of School for Management Studies, Punjabi University, Patiala and Principals and Teachers were present in this symposium.College Principal Dr. Khushvinder Kumar welcomed the Chief Guest, Guest of Honour and other guests and said that before implementation of New Education Policy-2020, it is must to discuss its various components and guidelines as it is going to transform the entire education system. It is now responsibility of teachers to analyse, review and discuss this document in public domain.The Presidential address in this symposium was delivered by Prof. Keshav Sharma, Vice Chancellor, ICFAI University, Himachal Pradesh. In his address, he emphasized upon how educational policy failure may lead to generational failure. He said that the fundamental values of education must be sustained and accessibility, affordability along with inclusivity should be our aim for future generations.The Keynote speaker Dr. Latika Sharma, Former Chairperson, Department of Education, Fellow Punjab University, Chandigarh in her presentation on ’21st Century Skills for Teachers’, she elaborated the framework and functionality of New Education Policy-2020. She discussed the outlines of choice-based credit system, formal and non–formal educational methods, Inter-disciplinary approaches, innovative methods of assessments and academic bank of credits.In the Open House discussion, there was question-answer session in which teachers and panelists deliberated upon the challenges and problems in implementation of New Education Policy-2020.In the second session, the Guest of Honor was Dr. Rashmi Khurana, Deputy Director (Retd) All India Radio. She remembered her teacher Dr. D. R. Vij, a renowned educationist and a visionary. She said that under mentorship of Dr. Vij she and many of my friends are colleagues reached their optimum potential and learning.After release of the book, ‘My Mystic Mentor: Dr. Vij’ which is edited by Dr. Rashmi Khurana two more books ‘Teachers’ Professional Commitment: A Key to Quality Education’ by Dr. Sarvjeet Kaur and the book ‘Fungi of North-East India (An Overview of Distribution and Bibliography) by Dr. Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Registrar and Dean, Life Sciences, Multani Mal Modi College, Patiala was also released.
In this session, Dr. Amarjit Singh Waraich, Director, All India Radio, Patiala and Mrs. Shenaz Jolly, All India Radio, Patiala, Principals and Teachers from different colleges attended the Symposium. Dr. Ajit Kumar, Controller of Examination presented the vote of thanks.

ਪਟਿਆਲਾ: 8 ਮਈ, 2023ਸਥਾਨਕ ਮੁਲਤਾਨੀ ਮੱਲ ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਦੇ ‘ਇੰਟਰਨਲ ਕੁਆਲਿਟੀ ਇੰਨਸ਼ੋਅਰਸ ਸੈੱਲ’ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਅੱਜ ‘ਦੀ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਫਾਰ ਟੀਚਰ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਫਾਊਡੇਸ਼ਨ’ ਦੇ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਨਾਲ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਪਾਲਿਸੀ 2020 ਉੱਪਰ ਗੋਸ਼ਠੀ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਖੇਤਰ ਦੇ ਮਾਹਿਰ ਡਾ. ਡੀ. ਆਰ. ਵਿੱਜ ਤੇ ਕਿਤਾਬ ਰਿਲੀਜ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ।ਇਹ ਸਿੰਪੋਜ਼ੀਅਮ ਗਿਆਨ-ਅਧਾਰਤ ਉੱਦਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ, ਭਵਿੱਖ ਵਿੱਚ ਤਕਨਾਲੋਜੀ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਢੁਕਵੇਂ ਤਕਨੀਕੀ ਅਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਬੰਧਨ ਹੁਨਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਤਸ਼ਾਹਿਤ ਕਰਨ, ਸੂਚਨਾ ਦੇ ਰੂਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਆਦਾਨ-ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਸਰੋਤ ਵਿਕਾਸ ਲਈ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਸ਼ਾਲੀ ਖੋਜ, ਸੰਸਥਾਗਤ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਸਹਿਯੋਗ ਅਤੇ ਭਾਈਵਾਲੀ ਵੱਲ ਕੰਮ ਕਰਨ ‘ਤੇ ਕੇਂਦਰਿਤ ਸੀ। ਇਸ ਗੋਸ਼ਠੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਸਤਿੰਦਰ ਢਿੱਲੋ, ਵਾਈਸ ਪ੍ਰੈਂਜੀਡੈਂਟ, ਦੀ ਕੌਂਸਲ ਫਾਰ ਟੀਚਰ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ ਫਾਊਡੇਸ਼ਨ, ਡਾ. ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਰਚਾ, ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਜੀ.ਐੱਚ ਜੀ.ਖਾਲਸਾ ਕਾਲਜ ਆਫ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ, ਗੁਰੂਸਰ ਸੁਧਾਰ ਲੁਧਿਆਣਾ, ਡਾ. ਬੀ. ਬੀ. ਸਿੰਗਲਾ, ਐਸੋਸੀਏਟ ਪ੍ਰੋਫੈਸਰ, ਡਿਪਾਟਰਮੈਂਟ ਆਫ਼ ਸਕੂਲ ਫ਼ਾਰ ਮੈਨਜਮੈਂਟ ਸਟੱਡੀਜ਼, ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਯ{ਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਸਹਿਬਾਨ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਸਨ।ਕਾਲਜ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਡਾ. ਖੁਸ਼ਵਿੰਦਰ ਕੁਮਾਰ ਨੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮਹਿਮਾਨ, ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਮਹਿਮਾਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਗਤ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਨਵੀਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੀਤੀ-2020 ਨੂੰ ਲਾਗੂ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਇਸ ਦੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਹਿੱਸਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਦਿਸ਼ਾ-ਨਿਰਦੇਸ਼ਾਂ ‘ਤੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ ਕਰਨਾ ਜ਼ਰੂਰੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਇਹ ਸਮੁੱਚੀ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਮੁੱਢੋਂ-ਸੁਢੋਂ ਹੀ ਬਦਲ ਦੇਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੈ। ਇਹ ਹੁਣ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਜ਼ਿੰਮੇਵਾਰੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਜਨਤਕ ਖੇਤਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਇਸ ਦਸਤਾਵੇਜ਼ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ਲੇਸ਼ਣ, ਸਮੀਖਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕਰਣ।ਇਸ ਸਿੰਪੋਜ਼ੀਅਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨਗੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਣ ਪ੍ਰੋ. ਕੇਸ਼ਵ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਵਾਈਸ ਚਾਂਸਲਰ, ਆਈਸੀਐਫਏਆਈ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਹਿਮਾਚਲ ਪ੍ਰਦੇਸ਼ ਨੇ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਆਪਣੇ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਨੇ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ‘ਤੇ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਕਿ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਨੀਤੀ ਦੀ ਅਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਨਵੀਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀ ਤੇ ਨਵੀਂ ਨਸਲ ਨੂੰ ਅਸਫ਼ਲਤਾ ਵੱਲ ਲੈ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਦੀਆਂ ਬੁਨਿਆਦੀ ਕਦਰਾਂ-ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਪੀੜ੍ਹੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ, ਕਿਫਾਇਤੀ ਦਰਾਂ ਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਸਮਾਵੇਸ਼-ਮੁੱਲਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਸਾਡਾ ਉਦੇਸ਼ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ।ਮੁੱਖ ਬੁਲਾਰੇ ਡਾ. ਲਤਿਕਾ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਸਾਬਕਾ ਚੇਅਰਪਰਸਨ, ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਵਿਭਾਗ, ਫੈਲੋ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ, ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਪੇਸ਼ਕਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੀਂ ਸਿੱਖਿਆ ਨੀਤੀ-2020 ਦੇ ਢਾਂਚੇ ਅਤੇ ਕਾਰਜਕੁਸ਼ਲਤਾ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਸਥਾਰ ਨਾਲ ਦੱਸਿਆ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਵਿਕਲਪ ਅਧਾਰਤ ਕ੍ਰੈਡਿਟ ਪ੍ਰਣਾਲੀ, ਰਸਮੀ ਅਤੇ ਗੈਰ-ਰਸਮੀ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ, ਅੰਤਰ-ਅਨੁਸ਼ਾਸਨੀ ਪਹੁੰਚ, ਮੁਲਾਂਕਣ ਦੇ ਨਵੀਨਤਮ ਤਰੀਕਿਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਕ੍ਰੈਡਿਟ ਦੇ ਅਕਾਦਮਿਕ ਬੈਂਕ ਦੀ ਰੂਪਰੇਖਾ ‘ਤੇ ਚਰਚਾ ਕੀਤੀ।ਓਪਨ ਹਾਊਸ ਚਰਚਾ ਵਿੱਚ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ-ਉੱਤਰ ਸੈਸ਼ਨ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਿਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਧਿਆਪਕਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਪੈਨਲ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਚੁਣੌਤੀਆਂ ਅਤੇ ਸਮੱਸਿਆਵਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਚਾਰ-ਵਟਾਂਦਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ।ਇਸ ਗੋਸ਼ਟੀ ਦੇ ਦ{ਜੇ ਭਾਗ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁੱਖ-ਮਹਿਮਾਨ ਵੱਜੋਂ ਡਾ. ਰਸ਼ਮੀ ਖੁਰਾਣਾ, ਡਿਪਟੀ ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ (ਰਿਟਾਇਰਡ) ਆਲ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਰੇਡੀਉ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਏ। ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸਤਿਕਾਰਯੋਗ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਡਾ.ਵਿੱਜ ਬਾਰੇ ਲਿਖੀ ਕਿਤਾਬ, ‘ਮਾਈ ਮਿਸਟਿਕ ਮਿਨਟਿਰ: ਡਾ ਵਿੱਜ’ ਰਿਲੀਜ਼ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਯੋਗ ਰਹਿਮੁਨਾਈ ਹੇਠ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਸਮੇਤ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀਆਂ ਨੇ ਨਾ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਜ਼ਿੰਦਗੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਉੱਚ-ਮਰਹਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਸਗੋਂ ਚੰਗਾ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਬਣਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਮੱਦਦ ਕੀਤੀ। ਇਸ ਸ਼ੈਸਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਤਾਬਾਂ ‘ਏ ਕੀ ਟੂ ਕੁਆਲਿਟੀ ਐਜੂਕੇਸ਼ਨ’ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਿ ਡਾ. ਸਰਬਜੀਤ ਕੌਰ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਲਿਖੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ‘ਫੰਗੀ ਆਫ ਨਾਰਥ-ਈਸਟ ਇੰਡੀਆ (ਏ ਉਵਰਵਿਊ ਆਫ ਡ੍ਰਿਸਟ੍ਰੀਬਿਊਸ਼ਨ ਐਂਡ ਬਿਬਲਿਉਗਰਾਫੀ)’ ਜਿਹੜੀ ਕਿ ਡਾ. ਅਸ਼ਵਨੀ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ, ਰਜਿਸਟਰਾਰ ਅਤੇ ਡੀਨ ਲਾਈਫ਼ ਸਾਇੰਸਿਜ਼, ਮੋਦੀ ਕਾਲਜ ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਨੇ ਲਿਖੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਰਿਲੀਜ਼ ਕੀਤੀਆ ਗਈਆ।ਇਸ ਸ਼ੈਸ਼ਨ ਵਿੱਚ ਡਾ. ਅਮਰਜੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਵੜੈਂਚ, ਡਾਇਰੈਕਟਰ, ਆਲ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਰੇਡੀਓ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਮਿਸਿਜ਼ ਸ਼ਹਿਨਾਜ਼ ਜੌਲੀ, ਆਲ ਇੰਡੀਆ ਰੇਡੀਓ, ਪਟਿਆਲਾ ਅਤੇ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਕਾਲਜਾਂ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਿੰਸੀਪਲ ਤੇ ਅਧਿਆਪਕ ਸ਼ਾਮਿਲ ਹੋਏ। ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਧੰਨਵਾਦ ਦਾ ਮਤਾ ਡਾ. ਅਜੀਤ ਕੁਮਾਰ, ਕੰਟਰੋਲਰ (ਪਰੀਖਿਆਵਾਂ) ਨੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।
